Mystery stranger with a heart gives £5k-worth of Dior and Bulgari gear to charity shop
A warm-hearted stranger donated more than £5,000-worth of designer clothes and jewellery to a charity shop – and didn’t even drop by to reveal their name.
The mystery benefactor arranged for boxes of valuable treasure – which included silk scarves and Swarovski jewellery – to be delivered privately by a driver in Camden, north London.
Adam Seker, manager of the British Heart Foundation shop in Camden, was later quoted in the Evening Standard saying that he would like to publicly thank the donor.
He said: “Whoever you are we’d just like to say thank you so much, but next time let us know so we can gift-aid it!
“It was unbelievable when it was dropped off. I was so excited when it arrived that I stayed overnight to go through it.”
According to The Charity Retail Association, last year charity shops raised more than £220 million, funding many causes including medical research, environmental initiatives, supporting sick and deprived children, homeless people, mentally and physically disabled people, animal welfare and overseas aid.
It just goes to prove that the British really do have a heart when it comes to giving to the needy.
