Meet the billionaire who’s screening 500 TV channels on the web … and they’re all free
HERE’S something to be cheerful about … media mogul Alki David has launched 500 new telly channels on the internet – and they’re all FREE.
Alki (pictured above) announced his FilmOn platform has major licensing deals with premium content publishers such Disney, ESPN and Fox, making it the largest free provider of internet TV in the world.
Viewers simply go to filmon.com in order to watch via the web or download an app.
Alki said: “Whether you’re interested in news and sport or movies and entertainment, FilmOn has something for everyone.”
With BBC1, ITV and all free-to-air channels available alongside FilmOn’s own exclusive channels, Alki says his platform offers the world’s best catch-up viewing.
“We even have Premier League highlights of classic games via FilmOn Football – all free and straight to your desktop, mobile or tablet,” added Alki, who is listed as a billioniare in The Sunday Times Rich List.
He says FilmOn’s package has more channels and video than TVCatchup and Netflix, and also includes its own social networking platform.
Viewers can even RECORD programmes by using two hours of free storage space when they register.
Alki continued: “We carry a total of 200 live TV channels, plus 500 video & audio podcasts from premium brands, including 45,000 new show titles that have been cleared for world-wide distribution.”
Users can register at www.filmon.com where they can watch via the web or find a link to download the FilmOn app to their device on Apple, Android or Windows 8.
